Bonjour,

Just a quick note to let you all know the classroom is looking awesome. I wish I could be there when the children see our new class for the first time. I am however pleased that I was able to book Mme Heidi LeClair to replace me, she has replaced me in the past and the children got along great with her. I will be thinking of them a great deal on Monday and I am beyond anxious to see all of them on Tuesday.

Our new home

Dear Parents,

Our new home away from home as you all know will be Parkside.

I am very eager to working with Mme Wendy in our combined classes, she will be able to bring a great deal of teaching expertise to our classroom. She also knows the children quite well, she has been following them during Music classes since the beginning of the school year.

I will be visiting our new classroom this afternoon and will be packing for the next couple of days.

Activities to do until November 15th

Dear Parents,

Here are a few activities you can do with your children while they are away from our classroom.

Fine motor skills; practice printing, cutting and play with playdoh.

Numeracy; cut out sales flyers and ask your child to sort them. They can sort them by color, type of food, etc. Practice counting up to ten in French, if possible.

Litteracy; read books to your child, if possible find someone who can read to your child in French. Go to the public library.

Social; I am assuming most of you have found places for your children to attend the next couple of weeks where there is other children if not make sure to have playdates scheduled with friends or extended family members.

Encourage your child to speak French while playing with his/her toys.
Students should know colours and many simple words in French. Ask them to translate simple words in French and praise them when they know the French words.

Practice letter recognition (this can be done in English because if they know them in English, it translates and it is easier for them to learn them in French)

I am very anxious to get back in the classroom with my little group of angels. The children are sure to have lots of stories to share and I already miss them dearly.
